Bands and artists have until July 24 to submit for the chance to compete live at the 900-capacity Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia this August.
“Every artist starts somewhere,” the announcement reads. “Local Noise Philadelphia is designed to help the region’s next generation of bands and artists take the next step.”
Select artists will compete in live semifinal performances on Aug. 13-14 at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia. The competition will culminate with the championship finals back at the venue on Aug. 20.
Prizes for the winner of the whole shebang include: the opportunity to perform at the 25,000-capacity Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in nearby Camden during a major concert event later this year, a $5,000 cash prize and exposure to new fans and opportunities to build valuable industry connections. Upcoming shows at the venue include everyone from Dave Matthews Band to Melanie Martinez, TLC and Gorillaz.
