‘The Result Of Meticulous Planning, Experience & An Outstanding Team’: Wizard Live Celebrates Another Successful Onkelz Tour

German promoter Wizard Live, part of DEAG, has concluded a successful Böhse Onkelz “Mitten Unter Euch” Tour 2026 with record attendances in Leipzig, Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Gelsenkirchen, and a production that “resets the benchmark for the German live entertainment market,” according to the promoter.
Led by Frankfurt-based promoter Wizard Live, part of DEAG, the tour sold more than 435,000 tickets across Germany and Austria, with 400,000 of those sold on the first day of the general sale, according to a press release from Wizard.
The tour’s format was as simple as it was effective: ahead of selected stadium dates, the band performed exclusive warm-up shows in intimate venues – Haus Auensee in Leipzig, Gasometer in Vienna, Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt and Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen (only in Nuremberg did they go straight for the big stadium).
The concept allowed at least some Onkelz fans to experience the band at their most intimate in a time when they sell out Germany’s stadiums seemingly with ease. The record attendance figures in almost all of the stadiums they visited on this tour are the result of the band’s in-the-round stage, which opens up more space for spectators than a traditional end-stage configuration.
In Leipzig, Böhse Onkelz sold out Red Bull Arena on two consecutive nights, June 12-13, with both concerts setting the highest attendance ever recorded at the venue. Since the boxoffice reports hadn’t been submitted at the time of writing, Pollstar reached out to the venues directly to confirm the figures.
In Leipzig, confirmed the stadium’s operators ZSL Betreibergesellschaft, each night saw 52,000 people in attendance, marking a new record for Red Bull Arena.
Going through the Pollstar Boxoffice, few acts came close, like Coldplay in 2017, who moved 47,233 tickets (grossing $4,471,280) on June 14 that year; or AC/DC on May 13, 2009, when they sold 49,067 tickets ($4,300,430).

Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on June 20 marked the only Austrian stop for Böhse Onkelz this year. The remaining attendance records were set at Nuremberg’s Max-Morlock-Stadion, at Deutsche Bank Park in the band’s hometown of Frankfurt, July 3-4, as well as the to tour’s final stop at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, July 11.
Veltins-Arena’s communications department confirmed with Pollstar that the Böhsen Onkelz concert attracted 70,500 spectators, a new record that surpassed the previous concert record with an in-the-round stage, which was 70,000 for U2 on their “360° Tour” in 2009.
To give this even more perspective: the overall attendance record, including sports events, at Veltins-Arena was set in 2010, at the opening match of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Cup, when 77,803 were in attendance.
Böhse Onkelz in-the-round stage featured eight 25-meter-high towers surrounding an octagonal platform, and carrying a full-scale lighting and LED production.
Drums and keyboards were mounted on a 360-degree rotating stage, making sure each side of the stadium got a good look at the band. Hence the name of the tour, “Mitten Unter Euch”, which translates as “right among you” or “right in the midst of you”.
Just as remarkable as the attendance figures is the fact that Böhse Onkelz have reached this level after 46 years as a band – the result of decades of work.
Marco Matthes, press spokesperson for the Onkelz put it this way: “What made this tour so special was not only the scale of the stage, the height of the towers or the number of fans in attendance. It was the willingness of the four Onkelz to take on something entirely new after 46 years as a band.”
Wizard Live MD Oliver Hoppe added, “it takes courage for a band to reinvent itself after 46 years. Böhse Onkelz challenged themselves with an entirely new stage concept, and 435,000 fans responded by filling stadiums across Germany and Austria. There is no stronger endorsement than that.”
Wizard Live is part of DEAG’s integrated live entertainment group. The 2026 “Mitten Unter Euch” tour was promoted by LiveGeist Entertainment GmbH, a sister company of Wizard Live within the DEAG Group, reinforcing Wizard Live’s position among the leading promoters in the German-speaking live entertainment markets.
From the conception and marketing of the “Mitten Unter Euch” project to the operational delivery of all eleven dates – spanning intimate warm-up shows and stadium productions for audiences of more than 70,000 – the Frankfurt-based company demonstrated its ability to deliver world-class live experiences across every scale and format.
Said Hoppe, “Record attendance at every German stadium show. Eleven performances across two countries. Not a single cancellation. That’s not luck. It’s the result of meticulous planning, experience and an outstanding team.”
