Alex Amen, Rising Folk Singer, Sets “Sun Of Amen” West Coast Tour

Alex Amen, the rising folk singer and songwriter, is set to hit the road for the West Coast leg of his ‘Sun of Amen’ Tour. The trek, which is the artist’s first headlining tour, kicks off on Aug. 10 at Seattle’s Tractor Tavern, with the five-date tour concluding at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on Aug. 15. Tickets are on sale here.
The Texas-born, California-based artist is currently settling in New York City after announcing his move to the East Coast back in February. To commemorate the new home base, Amen performed a trio of shows across NYC, with performances at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn back in March, Honeymoon Coffee in Ridgewood, NY and finishing things up at Night Club 101 in April. Most recently, the “Change” singer performed in Kingston, NY at Tubby’s and Brooklyn, NY at Elsewhere Rooftop in late July.
Alex Amen released his debut album, Sun of Amen, via ATO Records on June 12. The record is a pleasantly vibrant meditation on freedom within the outdoors, internal growth, love lost and gained over sparse, skeletal instrumentation.
“With this album we were meticulous about creating something high-quality while recording in a more traditional way, which has its own challenges—older gear is temperamental, so sometimes we’d have to break for three hours because the tape machine caught on fire,” Amen comments.
Amen’s refreshing output has garnered buzz around his musicianship, earning him nods from publications such as Rolling Stone.
