Electronic Music Pioneers Kraftwerk Add Second Open Air Show In Germany

German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk are bringing their “Multimedia” show to Bauhaus Dessau for two nights, Aug. 28-29. The second night was added today, Aug. 3, after tickets for the first one sold out quickly.

Fans can expect to be immersed in the “Gesamtkunstwerk” that is Kraftwerk’s current show, which toured the world across 2025 and 2026.

U.S. highlights from Pollstar Boxoffice include a sold-out performance at the Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley, in Berkeley, CA, which moved 4,430 tickets at a $427,553 gross; the band also sold 3,004 tickets for their March 13, 2025 performance at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY, grossing $344,711.

In Europe, the tour visited Helsinki, Finland, Nov. 20, 2025, where Kraftwerk sold 3,113 tickets, grossing $357,360; Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt in Germany, Dec. 1, 2025 (4,734 tickets, $366,745 gross); or AFAS Live in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Dec. 2, 2025 (5,307; $431,263).

The tour traveled to the UK in 2026, visiting Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, May 18, where the band sold 1,815 tickets, and grossed $193,129; their May 29 show at Sheffield City Hall in England moved 1,944 tickets at a $216,949 gross, according to the box office report submitted to Pollstar.

Founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, out of their own Kling-Klang Studio in Düsseldorf, Kraftwerk conceived, composed, and produced the revolutionary sound they’ve become world-renowned for.

Hütter and Schneider, who left the band in 2008, received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. Schneider passed away in 2020. In October 2021, Kraftwerk was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
