Gustavo Dudamel’s Benefit Concert For Venezuela Adds Beck, Carlos Vives, Natalia Lafourcade & More

The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s recently announced a star-studded lineup for its benefit concert for Venezuela at the Hollywood Bowl that features a diverse group of artists, including conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Beck, Carlos Vives, Eduardo Betancourt and more.

A Concert For Venezuela takes place Aug. 23 at the iconic venue in Los Angeles to benefit Dudamel’s Earthquake Recovery to Support Venezuelan Communities Fund, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean Fund.

Other artists on the bill include Meme Del Real of renowned Mexican rock band Café Tacvba, Natalia Lafourcade, Jorge Glem, Lasso, Moisés Torrealba and more.

The concert will also be the final show for Dudamel as music and artistic director of the LA Phil.

“As I prepare for my final concert as Music & Artistic Director of the LA Phil, I am deeply moved by the generosity of the artists who have come together to support the people of Venezuela,” said Dudamel, who was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. “Music has always been a force that unites us across borders and this concert is an opportunity to transform that spirit into meaningful action, and I am grateful to every artist who is helping bring hope and support to families as they rebuild their communities.”

The renowned conductor will be moving on to become the music and artistic director of the New York Philharmonic. The LA Phil announced in May that his successor will be British conductor Daniel Harding.
