At 11 years old, Bianca Nour was obsessed with “The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour” in 2009 despite not having attended the concert. Her mom didn’t allow it, but her sister attended and brought her a tour T-shirt, a souvenir that she treasures to this day.

The T-shirt meant the world to Nour and sparked something in her to pursue a career in the industry. That appreciation and attention to detail may have been what led her to what’s been a successful tenure as a manager. At Volara Management for over two years, Nour has worked with artists like HAIM and MARINA, leading campaigns for each of their career-defining albums and helping them achieve sold-out shows across the globe.

“Beyond the numbers, I’m most proud of being a steady partner to both artists through every stage of their campaigns,” Nour tells Pollstar. “Seeing MARINA headline her biggest shows to date and watching HAIM embark on their first-ever international arena tour, including sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena, were full-circle moments that reminded me exactly why I love this work.”

After graduating from UCLA, Nour’s first gig in the music industry was at United Talent Agency, where she supported tours from artists like Milky Chance, Empire of the Sun and LANY. She quickly learned that one sometimes gets more than just dirt on their hands.

“My very first job in music, though, was working a LANY merch pop-up that was so overrun with fans that I walked away with blood on my shirt my first day,” she recalls. It’s a tough lesson, especially on the first day, but Nour quickly adapted to her new surroundings, a skill necessary in the ever-evolving live industry.

“We’ve learned to adjust our ambitions to a world that’s changing much faster than the one faced by previous generations,” Nour says. “At the same time, that constant change is also our biggest challenge. We’ve become resilient because we’ve had to be, but the uncertainty can make it difficult to ever feel like we’re standing on solid ground.”

It also helps to have a mentor like Janelle Lopez Genzink at Volara Management, whose confidence rubbed off on Nour: “Two years ago, I had no artist management experience. Today, I confidently manage tours on my own. She didn’t just teach me the job — she trusted me to figure things out for myself, gave me opportunities before I felt completely ready, and put me in rooms with artists, executives and teams I never would have had access to otherwise. Her belief in me gave me the confidence to grow into the manager I am today.”
