As a director with a leadership role at THE·TEAM, Goldberg knows a bit about leading a team and the importance of effective communication. It comes in handy to have a great boss, too.

“A great boss is tough and always pushing you to be better but is also communicative, understanding and open to feedback,” Goldberg says. “Having someone who challenges you but is also open to being challenged back makes for a really great team where things are always being improved upon as people learn and grow.”

RECENT CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
“Cameron Winter’s headline show at Carnegie Hall, Getdown Services’ growth as an independent UK based act coming over to the states and selling out 500 cap rooms, and of course Geese’s explosive growth after the release of Getting Killed: seeing the band play SNL, sold out shows from Chicago, San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, London, and huge festival sets across the world to dedicated and excited fans has been so inspiring.”

R-E-S-P-E-C-T
“I’ve worked with (music agent) Greg Horbal for the last decade; he hired me as his assistant before I graduated from college. It’s been a privilege to learn from and alongside him as we’ve grown together over the last decade. Greg has taught me that success in this industry doesn’t have to be a result of who or what you know, but of how you respect and interact with the people you encounter.”

MILLENNIAL ADVANTAGES & CHALLENGES
“As a younger woman, it feels like our generation has an easier time (to be clear, still not entirely easy) finding women mentors within the industry,” she says.
“The looming uncertainty around AI is a scary thing – I’m aware of the ways it can make people’s lives easier, but the long-term effect on organizational structure and creativity is scary to think about.”

CH-CH-CHANGES
“I would love to see more mentorship training across the industry. I think the music industry is great at raising up individuals who are excellent at their jobs, but they may not be the best at teaching and raising the next generation. If there were a way for people to learn how to be effective mentors and good managers to those under them, I think the industry would be a much better place in the future.”
