LIFE IS A HIGHWAY
First job in the industry was as a Backstage Hospitality Coordinator for Rascal Flatts.

As touring and logistics manager, Kayla Carter Greear keeps the wheels rolling on Luke Bryan’s numerous touring platforms. Here she shares some recent highlights:

“One of the biggest highlights of my career was working closely with Southwest Airlines to help launch a nonstop flight on specific days the route does not normally run from Nashville to Cancun for Luke Bryan’s ‘Crash My Playa’ festival,” she says.
“Another major highlight was bringing Luke Bryan’s ‘Farm Tour’ to California for the first time. Coordinating travel logistics for more than 180 people, while ensuring 21 buses of crew, band and staff successfully moved from show to show, was a massive undertaking.

“I’d love to see better work-life balance become a priority across the live entertainment industry. It can be incredibly difficult to separate work from personal life when the job never really stops, and taking care of the people behind the scenes ultimately leads to better tours.

“I’d also like to see more emphasis placed on building genuine, long-term relationships with your travel agent, hotel partners and airline representatives. Those relationships shouldn’t only exist when you’re in a bind and need a favor. Investing in them consistently, communicating regularly, and treating partners as an extension of your team creates trust—and when challenges inevitably arise, everyone is in a much better position to work together and find solutions.

“‘Farm Tour’ is one of the most unique and challenging productions because we arrive at an empty field and have a full-scale concert ready to go by 4:00 p.m. each day. It truly takes a village, and seeing 20,000 fans each night having the time of their lives made all of the hard work incredibly rewarding.

“Playing at Georgia’s football stadium was another unforgettable career moment. It was especially special because it is [the] home state for both Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, and together they created such a unique experience for the fans. In my 13 years with the LB team, I have never seen him come off stage happier. Watching that moment and seeing the connection they created with the fans was something I’ll never forget. Finally, being nominated for the CMA Unsung Hero Award for a third consecutive year was another incredibly meaningful milestone and an honor that recognized the dedication and work happening behind the scenes. I am blessed to be trusted to coordinate complex travel logistics each year for one of country music’s largest tours while doing my best to find significant cost savings and keep operations running smoothly.”
