Kanye ‘Ye’ West Announces Tour Dates In Russia

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has announced that he is bringing his “Ye Live Tour” to Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Oct. 10 & 11, becoming the largest Western musician to perform in the country since it invaded Ukraine. The two sold-out shows are scheduled at the 70,000-capacity Gazprom Arena. Ye’s final show on the tour is currently set for Oct. 24 in Jakarta, Indonesia, at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

West’s current tour arrived during a time in the artist’s career when he is attempting to distance himself from his controversial past; over the past couple of years Ye has come under intense scrutiny for his antisemitic and pro-Nazi remarks. While he has had some success in getting people to forgive him after he apologized in January, not all the damage has been remedied yet.

Tour dates scheduled in France, Poland, England, and the Czech Republic were all canceled as a response to West’s previous hateful comments. However, dates in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Albania still went forward as scheduled.
