Calle 24 canceled the final seven dates of his U.S. tour following the revocation of his visa, the Mexican music star announced Monday.

The artist posted a statement on his Instagram page Monday, saying the cancellation was beyond his control and the revocation of his U.S. work visa was “unexpected.”

“This decision is being made out of the utmost respect for the laws, regulations, and processes established by U.S. authorities,” Calle 24 wrote in the statement. “My team and I believe it is essential to act responsibly and in full compliance with all applicable requirements. I deeply regret this situation, especially not being able to be with my fans in each of the cities we were scheduled to visit. … I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, especially to those who have already purchased tickets and made plans to attend these shows.”

The news comes in the middle of the 23-year-old singer’s “Eterno Tour,” which is the artist’s first-ever U.S. trek. Calle 24, whose real name is Diego Millán, had already performed in nine U.S. venues over the past three weeks, and the canceled shows include Hidalgo, Texas’ Payne Arena, The Underground in Charlotte, Atlanta’s Tabernacle, House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, San Antonio’s Aztec Theatre, 713 Music Hall in Houston and Chicago’s Riviera Theatre.

Calle 24 followed up his written statement, cosigned by his label Street Mob Records, with a sincere video expressing gratitude to the fans who showed up and apologizing to those he felt he let down.

“Please forgive me,” Millán said. “I wanted to fulfill all those dates and commitments. I was the most excited of all. It was my dream. It is my dream. I was living out something I never thought possible, and then it was cut short.

“To those I was able to see—those who made it to the shows that actually took place—I am so grateful for your support on this journey, for supporting a dream that felt almost too good to be true. … I feel ashamed for having let you down.”

Calle 24 broke into the Mexican music scene in 2021 with Mi Nueva Familia, quickly rising to prominence. His third album ONDEADO$ featured his breakthrough hit “QUE ONDA” with Chino Pacas and Fuerza Regida, a song that surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, where Calle 24 has amassed more than 20 million monthly listeners. The singer hailing from Chihuahua has toured with Fuerza Regida and Chino Pacas, and he’s also performed at festivals, including the popular Latin urban event Coca-Cola Flow Fest in Mexico City.
