The Maze Books Arcade Fire DJ Set For LA Arts District Halloween Block Party 

The Maze organizers have expanded the lineup for its Los Angeles Arts District Halloween Block Party with an Arcade Fire DJ set featuring co-founder Win Butler and touring band member Paul Beaubrun that will include live performance and instrumentation.

The lineup also includes French electronic duo The Blaze (performing live) and Los Angeles house music favorite Claude VonStroke, as well as Porky b2b Bones, Valou, Araminta and Oren.

The event – which is presented by Los Angeles nightlife innovators SBCLTR and Minimal Effort, creators of Resolutions NYE-NYD – will pay tribute to French DJ, record producer and actor Kavinsky, who died in July. His legacy will be honored with a special installation, themed areas throughout the event, and other unique content celebrating his influence. 

“Kavinsky was an artist we deeply admired, and having him be part of this year’s Maze meant a great deal to all of us,” event producer Cyril Bitar of Minimal Effort said in a statement. “His passing was an enormous loss, and we never wanted to simply move forward without recognizing the place he held in this event. We will honor him through a special installation, themed areas throughout The Maze, and unique content celebrating his music, his singular vision, and the lasting influence he had on electronic music and culture. At the same time, we’re excited to welcome Arcade Fire for a rare DJ set and to bring together music, art, and immersive production for the most ambitious edition of The Maze we’ve ever created.”

The Maze promises to deliver “a world of music, art, mystery, and exploration.” An announcement, which notes that costumes are encouraged, goes on to say that the event will feature “hidden pathways, roaming live performers, large-scale installations, immersive environments” and more.
