From L.A. to the O.C., Southern California was full of music stars last weekend with a 50th anniversary celebration of the Ramones and Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival.

The Official Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute was hosted by John Travolta at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles on Sunday, and it featured a one-night-only performance from Cretin Family, a supergroup that included Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Travis Barker of blink-182, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and C.J. Ramone, who played bass for the Ramones from 1989-1996.

The band performed covers of Ramones classics such as “Rockaway Beach” and “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker,” and they were joined by some special guests throughout the set. Actor, writer and musician Fred Armisen joined Cretin Family to sing “Danny Says,” and beloved local band The Linda Lindas graced the stage to play “California Sun” and “I Wanna Be Sedated.”

The final three songs of the set featured rock icon Billy Idol, who sang “Beat on the Brat,” Generation X’s “Ready Steady Go” and the Ramones classic “Blitzkrieg Bop.”

Daisy Chain Fields In Irvine, California, also had a punk vibe with a Riot Grrrl moment when local band Emily’s Sassy Lime joined Bikini Kill to perform a rendition of the “Rebel Girl.”

Girl group KATSEYE, who had to drop out of the festival because a member injured her ankle during rehearsals, still made a brief appearance on Saturday. Three members of the group surprised fans and introduced Devon Again, who filled in for KATSEYE.

The biggest cameos of the night came, of course, during Olivia Rodrigo’s set. The 23-year-old star was joined by Sarah McLachlan for a rendition of “Building a Mystery,” and Alanis Morissette joined Rodrigo to perform her hit song “Ironic.” The festival concluded with the legendary Stevie Nicks standing alongside Rodrigo for a duet of “Landslide.”
