14 Hospitalized During Chainsmokers Concert In San Jose

Fourteen people were taken to the hospital Friday during a concert by The Chainsmokers in San Jose, California.

The electronic duo were performing at the city’s Discovery Park in an event that began at 5:30 p.m.. The San Jose Fire Department said it began responding to calls for service around 8:30. The city’s police department said some people were treated at the park but paramedics took 14 to local hospitals.

The SJFD said it deployed an ambulance task force, two advanced life support units and a battalion chief to the event.

While the fire department would not disclose the nature of the medical emergencies, police said multiple people were treated for alcohol and drug intoxication.
