Metallica To Continue ‘M72 World Tour’ Into North America, Spring 2027 ‘In The Round At The 50-Yard Line’

Metallica will continue its M72 World  Tour into 2027, with “In The Round At The 50 Yard Line” dates announced at 12 North American stadiums for May and June.

Having played 99 shows in 26 countries since its April 2023 kickoff, the Live Nation-promoted “M72 World Tour” continues May 8, 2027, at BC Place in Vancouver, with the announcement saying the band will play a dozen cities for the first time on this run, concluding June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. Billed as “In The Round At The 50 Yard Line,” the accompanying image gives an idea of what to expect from the configuration. Other notable tour stops include college stadiums in El Paso (Sun Bowl Stadium), Fayetteville (Razorback Stadium), Madison (Camp Randall Stadium) and San Diego (Snapdragon Stadium). NFL stadiums include Arrowhead in Kansas City, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland and the new Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.

Tickets for the newly announced shows will be available starting with Fan Club presales beginning on Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. local time. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. 

Beginning in 2023 through its most recent two-night engagement, July 3 and July 5, 2025, at London Stadium, Metallica’s “M72 World Tour” resumes with nearly 5 million attendees, according to Live nation, with. But the band’s break from the road has not meant a break from performing, as the sold-out. 24-date “Life Burns Faster” residency at Sphere in Las Vegas kicks off Oct. 1,  and runs into March 13, 2027.

Support on M72’s 2027 North American run will come from Limp Bizkit and Avatar.

 As always, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation, a non-profit, philanthropic organization conceived by the members and management of Metallica and dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger and other critical local services. 

To date, All Within My Hands has provided grants of $19M to career and technical education programs through its Metallica Scholars Initiative, $8.8M to combat food insecurity, and $6.2M to disaster relief and other critical local services worldwide.
