Former Emo’s Location In Austin Returns As Moonline In 2027

AEG Presents announced the name of its second live music venue in Austin – Moonline.

AEG Presents is leasing the space that was the former location of Emo’s. The reimagined 1,500-capacity venue in East Riverside will open in early 2027 following a series of upgrades.

Moonline marks the newest addition to AEG Presents’ growing footprint in Austin, alongside United Heritage Hall, the 4,000-capacity venue currently under construction a mile away at River Park. Together, the two venues will accommodate a diverse range of artists and events in the music hub.

“Austin has a long history of artists making music on their own terms,” stated Robin Phillips, Vice President Southwest Region, AEG Presents. “It’s a city shaped by people who built their own scenes, found their own rooms, challenged what came before them, and made something distinctly Austin long before the rest of the world caught on.”

Planned renovations include upgrades to the sound system, green rooms, backstage areas and guest-facing amenities, all designed to enhance the experience for both fans and artists. AEG Presents will begin booking shows ahead of Moonline’s early 2027 opening. Additional details, including inaugural performances, ticket information and venue programming, will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 1,500-capacity club had been operated by C3 Presents since 2013, at 2015 E. Riverside Drive just southeast of downtown, hosting regular concerts and with a full slate of shows into December, after which there are plans to open a new Emo’s at a different location operated by Live Nation.
