Josh Homme’s Emergency Surgery Forces Queens Of The Stone Age To Cancel Euro Dates
Queens Of The Stone Age abruptly canceled their European tour, announcing that frontman Josh Homme requires emergency surgery.
The desert rockers had various festival appearances scheduled in France, Slovakia, German, Czechia, Austria, Romania, Croatia and Greece through July.
In a statement posted to social media, the band said they were “gutted” to have to cancel.
“QOTSA regret to announced Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue,” the statement read, in part.
The nature of Homme’s surgery was not disclosed. In 2010, he underwent leg surgery that left him bed-ridden for more than three months. He was also diagnosed with cancer in 2022, though he said in 2023 surgery was successful at treating it.
QOTSA has U.S. dates on the books for the fall. Those dates were not part of the initial cancelation announcement.
