Chart Scene: blink-182’s ‘One More Time’ Trek Scores Top Debut on LIVE75
blink-182 has the highest ranked debut on LIVE75 based on ticket sales totals reported from four venues on the “One More Time” tour supporting the band’s ninth studio album, released last October. Recent performances at two stadiums and two arenas moved a total of 124,592 sold tickets, averaging 31,148 per show which earns the No. 3 position on the chart.
The best box-office results were recorded at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with a ticket count of 50,492 on July 6. The sold-out event racked up a $5.78 million gross, the highest for the trio this week. It tops the $5.09 million box-office take from their stadium concert held at San Diego’s Petco Park on June 30. The ticket count there reached 40,228.
Then, the two arenas included in this week’s chart-eligible data were Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, with a concert on July 2 and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with another performance the following night. Phoenix-area fans numbered 16,440, while the number of attendees in Las Vegas peaked at 17,432. The grosses from both performances totaled $2.12 million and $2.04 million, respectively.
The “One More Time” trek is occurring while the band’s larger world tour that launched in May of last year is still in progress throughout much of 2024. In the first year of the global tour, the band played cities in North America and Europe, while this year’s bookings have included dates in Oceania and Latin America. The world tour will also feature an upcoming string of shows in Europe including appearances at the twinned Reading and Leeds Festival in the U.K. A final performance is planned for Nov. 9 at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros.
A total of 33 touring acts make a debut appearance on LIVE75 in this issue, including eight in the top 25. Following the No. 3-ranked blink-182, Avril Lavigne has the second highest debut, entering the top 10 at No. 8 based on ticket sales at six shows. The Canadian singer’s “Greatest Hits Tour” is booked primarily in North American cities this year, although a series of European shows were on the schedule in June and early July.
Megan Thee Stallion enters LIVE75 at No. 13 with ticket counts from four arena performances. Included are sellouts in the New York City and Los Angeles markets, both with attendance tallies topping 14,000. Then, Melanie Martinez and Chris Brown also land in the top 20, while Fuerza Regida, Nickelback and ODESZA each debut between Nos. 20 and 25 on the chart.
Four performers make their debut on the 50-position Artist Power Index in this issue with only Travis Scott landing in the top 25. Ranked 20th, the Houston-born rapper enters the ranking with the launch of the European leg of his “Circus Maximus Tour.” Two concerts at GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands, on June 28 and 30 kicked off the trek that will feature shows in 11 countries on the continent through Aug. 4.
Cardi B joins the APX lineup at No. 26 after headlining a multiple-artist concert event during “BET Experience,” produced for the first time after a four-year hiatus. Held in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena on June 28, the concert also featured sets by Gunna, Davido, Sexyy Red and Jordan Ward.
The Killers take the No. 49 ranking on the Artist Power Index based on multiple performances at arenas in Ireland and the U.K. on the band’s “Rebel Diamonds Tour.” They played three nights at 3Arena in Dublin followed by a four-show run at Co-op Live in Manchester, three performances at The OVO Hydro in Glasgow and six at The O2 in London between June 12 and July 11.
Finally, Grupo Firme bows at No. 50 on APX after playing four recent concerts beginning with a June 15 arena performance at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Also in the mix are the group’s amphitheater date at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, on June 21 and shows at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, June 27, and Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, June 29.
On LIVE75, Dutch conductor and violinist André Rieu earns the “Breakthrough” classification with the highest sellout percentage from the most performances among concert headliners ranked outside the top 25.
