Lifelong University of Tennessee fan Morgan Wallen will perform at the home of his beloved Vols, as the country megastar announced a show at Knoxville’s massive Neyland Stadium September 22.

Wallen’s on-going “One Night At A Time” tour has been making its stadiums around the U.S. and has dates planned into the early fall, but for a man born in Sneedville, some 70 miles away from Knoxville in the Hancock County mountains and who moved to Scruffy City as a teenager, playing Neyland will be extra special.

“I’ve had the honor of playing in a lot of college, MLB and NFL stadiums the past two years, but getting to play to my hometown at Neyland Stadium, nothing tops this for a boy from East Tennessee,” Wallen said on Instagram.

ERNEST and HARDY will provide support on the Live Nation-produced show.

Tickets are on sale July 17 at MorganWallen.com.

For football, Neyland Stadium’s official capacity is 101,915, making it the country’s sixth-largest football stadium. It has hosted a handful of concerts over the years. The Jacksons played three times there in August 1984 as part of the “Victory Tour” and Knoxvillian Kenny Chesney drew 61,796 for a $2,176,500 gross in June 2003, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. Most recently, Garth Brooks played the stadium November 16, 2019.

Wallen has six more dates remaining on the current leg of “One Night At A Time” before he heads to Europe for seven shows in August and September. He returns to the U.S. for the Knoxville performance with three other stadium dates — in Tampa and a double in Charlotte — following.
