Usher To Release ‘Rendezvous In Paris’ Concert Film
Fans can relive Usher’s 2023 concerts in Paris as he announces his “Usher: Rendezvous In Paris” concert film set to be released in cinemas worldwide Sept. 12-15. The show featured performances of Usher’s hits including “Yeah!,” “My Boo,” “Love In This Club” and more.
The concert film will screen in 2,000 cinemas worldwide including 1,000 in the United States, by Trafalgar Releasing in partnership with AMC Theatres Distribution. Anthony Mandler directed the film and produced alongside Usher and Ron Laffitte. The movie is a production of Acrovision, Kingdom Films and Lafitte Group Productions.
“Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans,” Usher said in a statement. “I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
Usher is managed by Ron Laffitte and Laffitte Management Group and booked by WME’s John Marx. He headlined the Super Bowl Half Time show last February, gaining acclaim for his hits.
“For 30 years, Usher has captivated and entertained audiences through his music and concerts,” Adam Aron, Chairman and CEO of AMC Theatres, said in a statement. “Just a few months ago, he drew rave reviews for his stunning performance in front of 129 million people during the Super Bowl Half Time Show. Bringing his unparalleled concert experience to movie theatres for his fans around the world is a perfect fit for AMC Theatres Distribution.”
Usher held a residency in Las Vegas last year with an average gross floating around $1.6 million per show. He stayed at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, with tickets averaging $80 to $800 per show. From Nov. 3 to Dec. 2, Usher performed 12 shows at the venue, 11 of which sold out.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Sony Music Vision and AMC Theatres Distribution to bring the energy of usher to the movie theater audiences around the world,” Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, said in a statement. “He is the perfect artist to support our shared vision of creating global experiences around concert films for artists that advance the evolution of the cinema into venues for all forms of entertainment.”
Tickets for the screenings can be purchased starting Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. ET.
