Jimmy Eat World Announces Hometown Show To Celebrate Album Anniversaries
Emo stalwarts Jimmy Eat World will mark the anniversaries of two albums with a special hometown show in October.
The Phoenix band will perform at The Van Buren in Arizona’s capital Oct. 17, playing their 2004 gold-certified fifth album Futures in its entirety. Tickets go on sale Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. local at LiveNation.com.
Also marking the anniversary, the band is releasing the “Phoenix Sessions” versions of Futures and their 2019 album Surviving. The “Phoenix Sessions” are live recordings of performances of the albums made in 2021 as part of a partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents. The band’s shows at the Icehouse in Phoenix were recorded and streamed globally.
Earlier, the band released Clarity: Phoenix Sessions, marking the 25th anniversary of Clarity, the band’s critically acclaimed 1999 release.
Jimmy Eat World spent the spring touring with fellow second- and third-wave emo favorites Fall Out Boy, which included a $1.76-million-grossing, 13,881-ticket sell-out at Madison Square Garden March 22, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
The band is repped by UTA in North America and managed by SAM’s John Silva.
