Stern Management Adds Marisa Jeffries As General Manager
Stern Management announced the hiring of music industry veteran Marisa Jeffries, who will take on the role of general manager and will look to maximize opportunities for the company’s roster, which includes Djo, Metric, The Black Angels, Ben Abraham, Phosphorescent, Karina Rykman, Finn Wolfhard, Durry and Ill Peach.
Jeffries previously worked as a lead on TikTok’s music partnerships and operations team and oversaw the award-winning MOTOMAMI campaign with Rosalía and Columbia Records. Jeffries also partnered with Taylor Swift and worked on several projects with her team, including a unique tour hub for the superstar’s “Eras Tour.”
With a passion for music discovery and connecting artists to their fans, Jeffries has worked to build lasting communities for nearly two decades. While at Sony Music, she brought music into non-traditional retail venues and later worked on emerging digital marketplaces. She also led the label partnerships team at SoundCloud that worked to develop deeper engagement with the platform’s tools and community.
Jeffries hopes to continue developing authentic connections with Nick Stern’s management company, which was founded in 2020.
“Nick has been a consistent and trusted colleague and friend, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with him in this new era of Stern Management,” she said in a statement. “We share a mutual respect for one another and believe in building artist careers brick by brick. We also share a love of artistry — not necessarily what’s popular at the moment, but really believing in artists who are making incredible music and bring nothing but authenticity to their craft.”
Stern Management’s artists have had quite a year, including chart-topping hits from Metric and longtime client Djo (the name Stranger Things actor Joe Keery goes by in his musical career). Djo, Finn Wolfhard, Metric and Durry are all expected to have new music dropping sometime this year.
“As a friend and colleague, Marisa has always led with kindness,” Stern said in a statement. “I have been constantly inspired by Marisa and her community of colleagues and friends who break artists in new and inventive ways. Her superpower has always been drawing out the best in people and building long-lasting partnerships founded on trust, excitement and a love for doing cool things. She strives to make a meaningful impact on everyone she comes into contact with, whether it’s a developing artist, a teammate or someone she’s never met before. As Stern Management is coming into its own, I am overjoyed that Marisa is going to be joining us at this exciting stage in a key leadership position.”
