United Sounds NYC Announces Inaugural NYC Event With Blonde Redhead, The Dismemberment Plan & More
A new music festival, United Sounds NYC, is taking place in the Red Hook neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, on Oct. 25 and 266 with performances by Blonde Redhead, The Dismemberment Plan, Sunflower Bean, Les Savy Fav and more. The event takes place at Pioneer Works and is booked by Diane Perini and produced by United Sounds.
“We wanted to start an annual music festival in New York City during the fall season, in the spirit of great indie-focused events of the past like CMJ,” festival booker Diane Perini, who also co-founded and programmed Coney Island’s Siren Music Festival, said in a statement. “Our goal is to bring celebrated independent artists and music fans together for a fun weekend in a great setting. We were drawn to Red Hook to launch the event because it has such a welcoming seaside community vibe, that feels like youre out of the city, yet it’s right there across the water from lower Manhattan.”
Tickets are $50 for single-day passes and $75 for two-day passes, and are available for purchase now. They’re also teaming up with WFUV Public Radio as the festival’s official media sponsor. Shay Vishawadia and Dipesh Sinha are also working on this year’s event, which runs from 4pm to 12am.
“We are too excited to wait until 2025 to start launching the events, festivals and concerts that we are envisioning,” Vishawadia said in a statement. “We see the festival as a plant-our-flag moment and we are looking forward to expanding United Sounds not only as the annual festival, but also producing a full calendar of events in NYC and additional markets.”
