Sometimes the talent is undeniable and apparent early on. Ticketmaster’s Brita Christensen was tapped for Pollstar’s Impact: Next Gen list back in 2019, just months after she was promoted to senior artist and promoter relations manager (she’d also make the list in 2022).

Since then, she’s steadily — and rapidly — climbed the ranks to director and vice president.

She’s learned from the best along the way how to navigate the thorny world of ticketing and artist relations. She cites — of course — Women of Live Hall of Famer Marla Ostroff, the doyenne of ticketing and Ticketmaster’s managing director, North America, as well as Blythe Reyes, SVP of Ticketmaster Music, as women instrumental in her career.

Christensen says it’s critical for up-and-comers to have a holistic approach to the business.

“It’s important to look beyond ourselves and recognize how our work both impacts and depends on others. One of the most valuable things I did early in my career was develop a well-rounded understanding of the company I work for,” she says.

“I also encourage younger team members to reflect on what they need from their jobs to succeed and feel fulfilled. Personally, I know I thrive with engaging work, trustworthy colleagues, and leadership I admire.”

She says as more markets open, Ticketmaster is focused on improving the ticketing experience everywhere.

“Over the past year, we’ve focused heavily on the U.K. and Europe, enhancing the onsale to create a better experience for fans. At the same time, we’re rapidly expanding our tech capabilities worldwide to better serve both artists and audiences,” she says.

These days, among other things, Christensen is working on Ticketmaster’s new streamlined codeless Artist Presale product.

“Artists love that it’s a simple signup process for fans and that they can access valuable demand signals ahead of the presale,” she says. “Over 20 artists have used it since we launched the product last August.”
