Fane, Kilimanjaro, and Singular Artists announced “Seat Unique Presents: An Evening with President Barack Obama,” a live event featuring the former 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama, taking over London’s O2, Sept. 24, as well as Dublin’s 3Arena, Sept. 26.

“Few presidents have walked a more improbable path to the White House. Now, in a time of great uncertainty and change, President Barack Obama returns to the stage to share what comes next – for America, and for all of us,” the press announcement reads.

The event is promoted by Fane, the spoken-word specialists acquired by DEAG through Kilimanjaro in 2021, and Singular Artists, the independent Irish promoters collective formed by Fin O’Leary, Brian Hand and Simon Merriman in 2020, and backed by Kilimanjaro/DEAG.

The press announcement quotes Obama as saying, “True democracy is a project that’s much bigger than any one of us. It’s bigger than any one person, any one president, and any one government. It’s a job for all of us.”

Tickets and premium hospitality packages go on sale July 10, at 10 a.m. local time. 100 tickets will be set aside for charitable organizations in each city.

Stuart Galbraith, CEO, Kilimanjaro, and Alex Fane, CEO, Fane Group, released a joint statement: “We are incredibly honoured to bring President Obama to the UK and Ireland for these truly special events. His message of unity and progress resonates deeply, and we anticipate an evening that will inspire and empower all who attend.

We believe in providing exceptional experiences, and this event perfectly aligns with our mission to connect people with inspiring moments.”

Non-music, spoken word events have become a real ticket seller, as Detlef Kornett, CEO of Kilimanjaro parent company DEAG told Pollstar in May. He said, “within non music, our segment spoken word & literary events has been our most important initiative, and one that has seen tremendous growth. I see that continuing for a number of years, at least, because we’re just on the verge of discovering the various fields of interest for people. We’re now doing Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard. We’re doing a tour with Andy Murray. There’s a whole world of personalities and sports heroes that are of interest to people.”
