Meet Pollstar’s Impact: NextGen Class Of ’25

nextgenlogo

Bad Bunny, Post Malone, André 3000, Tate McRae, The Rolling Stones. That’s just a sliver of the top-notch artists that Pollstar’s Impact: NextGen class of 2025 touch. It’s remarkable that this early in their young careers (under 35) they’re already working with some of the biggest and best acts in this business, along with major venues, innovative sustainability companies, massive philanthropy events and more.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise. This generation means business, they’re better educated, more professional and know how to grind thanks in part to music business programs, mentorships, internships and a healthy dose of pluck. They’re laser focused, quick studies, have customer service in their DNA and know way more than your former entry level grunt.

They also forged their mettle amid a pandemic, natural disasters, an economic roller coaster ride, social and political upheavals and more. They are more adaptable than any previous cohort. Which doesn’t mean they don’t know how to have fun or care deeply about music. More than a few honorees copped to being inveterate showgoers seeing artists with their parents, playing in bands and/or DJing. And when they got the bug for music, they found myriad new ways to indulge their passion.

Their generational advantage is their digital nativism with platforms at their fingertips to satiate their music fervor – be it streaming, social media, playlists, AI, group texts, SMS notifications, etc. They grew up swimming in metrics and have developed an innate ability to create strategies based on data-enhancing decision making in a way their bosses will never know.

Right this second, many on this list are dreaming up innovative tours, creative productions, marketing strategies, making sure fans are cared for, implementing the latest technologies and far more. The kids are more than just alright, they’re kicking ass and we are thankful they’re here. Congrats to all of this year’s honorees.
