Christina Karas heads up marketing communications for Live Nation Venues, an ever-growing and important arm of the company, as it announces coming-soon venues at an enviable pace, while making upgrades to its existing buildings.

“One of the most impactful successes over the last year has been rethinking our approach to communications. We’ve brought together people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, but what they all share is a real passion for hospitality and entertainment,” Karas tells Pollstar. “That mix of perspectives has been such a strength. We’ve also put a big focus on elevating hospitality across our venues. Those two things together—our people and our approach to hospitality—have made a huge difference in how we communicate with our many stakeholders.”

With more consumers being mindful of how to spend their disposable income, Karas says it’s critical that venues aim to give each consumer the experience they want.

“We’re really intentional about making sure fans have options at our venues so they can enjoy a show the way they want. What we’re seeing is that attending shows remains an important priority for fans as they look to live events as a place to come together over shared interests and create lasting memories. That’s why our focus remains on delivering incredible hospitality experiences for fans,” she says.

This year, Karas is particularly proud of the work Live Nation did with KultureCity, a leading sensory accessibility nonprofit, in having more than 25 venues certified as sensory inclusive.

But in the venues world, work’s never done.

“What’s next is building on the momentum we’ve had this year. We’re giving fans great options to enjoy their night out before and after the show, like at the brand new Backyard, which opened at several amphitheaters this summer,” she says. “We’re also focused on supporting some of the incredible new venues we’ve opened like the Brooklyn Paramount, The Dome and Coca-Cola Amphitheater.”
