D4vd Cancels Seattle Show After Authorities ID Girl Found Dead Inside His Tesla

D4vd was supposed to play the second of two nights at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo as part of his “Withered World Tour” but Wednesday’s show has been called off – the same day that law enforcement identified the body of a girl found in a Tesla registered to the singer. The victim, a 15-year-old named Celeste Rivas, had reportedly been missing for over a year.  

News broke last week that a body was found in D4vd’s vehicle that was impounded at a Los Angeles tow yard, according to NBC Los Angeles.

The news organization reported that “The decomposed body was found Sept. 8 after workers at Hollywood Tow reported a strong odor coming from the Tesla registered to the singer. Officers opened the front trunk, also known as a frunk, and found the remains in a bag, police said.”

NBC Los Angeles says the Tesla was impounded after it had reportedly been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills for more than a month. The vehicle was registered in the singer’s legal name, David Burke, in Hempstead, Texas, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for D4vd, age 20, released a statement last week while he continued touring: “D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

NBC News reported last week that identification of the victim was delayed because the “remains were not intact.” The medical examiner’s office said the victim, who weighed approximately 71 pounds, appeared to have been deceased inside the vehicle “for an extended period of time before being found.”

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that “The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this incident as a homicide and will be the point of contact for any further details regarding this investigation,” according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.

TMZ reported that Rivas was reported missing April 5, 2024, at age 13. She was last seen in Lake Elsinore, California. The gossip site talked to Rivas’ mother, who reportedly said her daughter had a boyfriend named David. TMZ also reported that a leaked song reportedly recorded by d4vd surfaced on Soundcloud Sept. 17 that contains lyrics about a love interest named Celeste.

A post on www.showboxpresents.com simply says tonight’s show at the Seattle venue is cancelled. A link that leads to AXS’s website notes: “As soon as the venue or promoter tells us that an event has been cancelled, we’ll get to work on letting you know about it. We’ll try to contact you by sending an email, so please make sure the details on your booking are up to date! If the event is cancelled, we’ll issue you a refund automatically to the original payment card.”

D4vd was featured on the cover of Pollstar in April 2024. Wasserman Music is the exclusive booking agency for d4vd worldwide and his agents are Brent Smith, Len Chenfeld and Lauren Marker. The “Withered World Tour” is supposed to play San Francisco’s The Warfield next on Sept. 19, followed by a Sept. 20 show at Los Angeles’ The Greek Theatre. As of post time, those tour dates are still on the books. He has European tour dates scheduled Oct. 3 through Nov. 4 and Australian shows booked in December.
