Private Equity Firm Acquires Romanian Promoter & Ticketing Business

Resource Partners has acquired a majority stake in iaBilet.ro, Romania’s leading ticketing platform, and concert promoter BestMusic Live.

Resource Partners, a private equity investor in Central and Eastern Europe, announced the acquisition of an 82.5% stake in iaBilet, Romania’s leading online ticketing platform, and a 55% stake in live events promoter BestMusic Concerts.

It marks the first entry by Resource Partners’ into “the high-growth digital ticketing and live entertainment sector,” according to the press announcement.

iaBilet launched in 2012 with a self-proclaimed mission to create a digital platform that would simplify ticketing for users, and professionalize the experience for promoters.

Today, 13 years later, iaBilet, by its own admission, processes tickets for over 2,000 events per day, and serves as a guide to Romania’s vibrant entertainment landscape.

The company’s proprietary platform combines ticketing, marketing automation, and real-time analytics, allowing both major promoters and independent organizers to manage, and potentially grow their events with the help of the platforms sales, analytics, and marketing suite.

iaBilet also includes its own resale platform daBilet.ro.

In 2024 iaBilet processed over 4 million tickets across events for more than 3,000 promoters, achieving a turnover of €5.8 million ($6.8 million).

Backed by Resource Partners, iaBilet intends to upgrade and scale up its digital infrastructure, broaden its service portfolio for promoters, and elevate the ticketing experience for users.

BestMusic, too, has played a big role in shaping Romania’s live music scene, by bringing top international acts to Romanian stages and building a fan following along the way.

BestMusic’s founders have a 20-year track record, and look back at over 3,000 events produced. BestMusic is credited with bringin global acts such as Iron Maiden, Slipknot, The Hollywood Vampires, The 1975, and Eros Ramazzotti to Romanian stages for the first time.
