Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Set ‘Stripped Down’ Tour Of Intimate Venues

Coming off a tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band, indie stalwarts Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have announced a North American headline run offering a what the band says is a “more naked” perspective on their work.
The “Piano & Voice” tour of intimate North American venues begins Jan. 15 at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, setting the example of the types of venues the band will visit on the 11-stop tour — museums, galleries, deconsecrated churches, avant-garde clubs and the like. After visitng New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago and more, the tour wraps at Toronto’s Lula Lounge Feb. 15.
Tickets are on sale now via www.cyhsy.com/live.
“Essentially, this is an opportunity for me to put forward my songs for Clap Your Hands in their starkest form,” says Alec Ounsworth. “After having done shows in this form in Europe, this will be the first round of shows of this kind in the United States. Doing the material in this way has been a chance to connect with the work on an intimate and new (but familiar) level. Be ready for some raw emotion – precisely what I, for one, need at the moment. Please join me for these special, small shows.”
In June, CYHSY sold 992 tickets at Mexico City’s Fora Pueblo 186, grossing $28,607, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
The band is repped by Concerted Efforts in North and South America, Asia and Australia.
