Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) announced a strategic partnership with dancker, a leading interiors integrator, to help drive the next phase of the $1 billion Capital One Arena transformation.
Together with its technology division DBE Systems and logistics arm d’ploy, dancker is providing integrated furniture, AV technology and inventory management solutions to enhance how athletes, employees, partners and fans experience Monumental environments at the D.C. arena.
The partnership encompasses the arena, MSE’s Lofts office space and other upcoming projects. From team compounds and media lounges to premium clubs, conference centers, and boardrooms, every space is designed to foster collaboration, innovation and energy. As part of the partnership, dancker will also become the title sponsor of the arena’s upgraded Players Club lounge, The dancker Club.
“Capital One Arena is the heartbeat of downtown D.C., and this partnership ensures it continues serving our community in bold new ways,” stated Jim Van Stone, President of Business Operations and Chief Commercial Officer at MSE in a release. “Together with dancker, we’re designing a venue that blends innovation, comfort, and inspiration to set a new standard for the modern arena, and a benchmark in developing multipurpose destinations for the community.”
In collaboration with Gensler, dancker’s six months of design and planning resulted in more than 15,000 products and solutions coordinated by a 70-person team across its divisions.
Highlights include premium seating, lounges, offices, executive boardrooms and business/conference center spaces; technology by DBE Systems with advanced displays and AV systems in suites, meeting spaces and team areas; and logistics by d’ploy offering comprehensive inventory and asset management, including storage and coordination for more than 220 pallets and memorabilia items.
“This transformation is about more than modernizing a venue – it’s about revitalizing a community hub,” added Nathan Kooi, President at dancker. “Together with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, we’re creating spaces where employees feel empowered, fans feel energized, and visitors feel welcomed.”
The dancker collaboration joins MSE’s growing roster of partners driving the arena transformation. In June, MSE announced a partnership with Cisco to make Capital One Arena one of the first sports venues in the world to deploy Cisco Wi-Fi 7 and a first-of-its-kind Cisco Command Center. Earlier that year, DXC was named an official global partner contributing cutting-edge technology innovation to the new arena. In August, MSE introduced its Creative Council – featuring Elevate, Gensler, CAA ICON, Sports & The Arts, cllct, Clark Construction, Aramark and Élan Arc – to guide brand integration and design throughout the floor-to ceiling renovation. Phase one is nearing completion as fans return for the 2025–26 seasons for the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the NHL’s Washington Capitals. Both teams are owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
