TEG To Wind Down UK Touring Ops By 2026

TEG Europe sold its UK venue portfolio to the newly launched Propaganda Independent Venues last week, and Pollstar reached out to TEG’s Australian headquarters to find out if other aspects of its UK business would be affected.
A TEG spokesperson said, “as TEG repositions its regional touring focus to the Asia-Pacific, TEG Touring’s UK operations will wind down by June 30, 2026.”
With regard to the leadership of TEG Europe, the spokesperson said, “We are deeply grateful to Toby Leighton-Pope and the UK Touring team for their leadership and contribution.”
Leighton-Pope is one of Pollstar’s 2025 Impact International: UK/Euro honorees, and TEG Europe’s UK touring success played a role in that. It’s recognitions like this – Leighton-Pope is also a 2025 Billboard Touring Power Player – that underscore the calibre of the team, which will continue to deliver major tours through 2025.
Since launching its European presence in 2022, TEG has hit the ground running with Leighton-Pope at its helm, promoting some of the biggest arena tours in the UK in each year. The Busted 20th anniversary arena tour in 2023, for instance, visited 27 arenas, and sold 150,000 tickets.
Last year, Leighton-Pope and his team promoted the famous UK girl group Girls Aloud reformation tour, selling some 300,000 tickets across 29 arena shows. This year’s Busted vs McFly tour boasted similar numbers.
Highlights from the Pollstar Boxoffice for Busted vs McFly include two sold out performances at The O2, London, Sept. 20-21, which moved a total 30,639 at a $2,441,205 gross. As this didn’t satisfy fan demand, they performed at the iconic building again in October and November this year, but the boxoffice reports weren’t in at the time of this writing.
Busted vs McFly also sold 19,360 tickets across two shows at First Direct Arena Leeds, Sept. 28-29, grossing $1,502,230; or 26,565 tickets across two shows at AO Arena Manchester, Oct. 17-18, grossing $2,776,482, according to the boxoffice reports submitted for those shows.
TEG Europe also staged the inaugural Come Together Festival in Newcastle, England, in August, headlined by Robbie Williams and Kings of Leon. While the festival business wasn’t addressed in the spokesperson’s comment, TEG’s sports business as well as its ticketing operations in the UK were:
“There is no impact to TEG Sport’s UK business. TEG Sport will continue bringing marquee sporting events to the UK and global audiences.
“Our UK Ticketek business continues to operate as normal, and we are actively investing in strengthening this operation with our partners.”
