Post-punk band DEVO announced their 2026 tour, “Mutate, Don’t Stagnate,” kicking off in front of their anticipated return to Coachella on April 10 and 17; the band’s last performance at the festival was in 2010.

Known for their pioneering sound, visuals and genre-defying style, DEVO plans to bring an immersive live experience to fans in April starting with Hard Rock Live Sacrament in Wheatland, California on April 3 with stops in Reno, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.

“We can’t wait to hit the road in 2026 and perform for our fans across the West Coast,” states the band in a release. “It’s incredible to see our music resonate with fans of all ages. From those who’ve been with us since the beginning more than 50 years ago to a whole new generation discovering DEVO for the first time. This tour is a celebration for everyone who’s been part of our journey.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Dec. 1 2 at 10:00 AM local time. Promoter, venue and local pre-sales begin today at 10:00 AM local time. Additional tour dates will be announced.

The band just announced new UK dates for their 2026 co-headlining “Cosmic De-Evolution Tour” with The B-52s, following their successful run in the U.S. and Canada earlier this year. The UK shows include The O2 in London (June 20) and Manchester’s AO Arena (June 21).

The “Mutate Don’t Stagnate” tour news follows the recent announcement that DEVO’s feature documentary has been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Music Film. The film is now streaming globally on Netflix, allowing audiences deeper insight into the band, which formed in 1973 and consisted of two sets of brothers – Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh, and Gerald and Bob Casale – along with drummer Alan Myers, all from Akron, Ohio.

The band’s prophetic message of “Devolution” and their fusion of electronics and punk made them a singular influence throughout the ’80s and into the ’90s. In 2023, DEVO embarked on their “50th Anniversary Tour,” featuring original members Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale. Jeff Friedl now holds the drumsticks and Josh Hager has taken over for the late Bob Casale on rhythm guitar and synths.
