Lucy Dickins Officially Joins CAA From WME

Lucy Dickins

News that Pollstar broke on Friday (March 6), was confirmed today when CAA officially confirmed that Lucy Dickins is joining the agency from WME and will serve on the firm’s Managing Director Committee beginning in mid-April. The announcement follows last Friday’s nes that Dickens was stepping down from her leadership position at WME where she led the department as global head of Contemporary Music and Touring at WME.

“Lucy is a tremendous business leader and exceptional agent, with a deep understanding of talent and what it takes to help them realize their most ambitious goals,” CAA Co-Chairman and CEO Bryan Lourd said in a statement. “She’s a dynamic, thoughtful and hands-on leader with invaluable global management experience, creativity and strategic insight. We look forward to working with her across all divisions of our company.”

Dickins joins as a managing director and her arrival does not affect the current CAA leadership structure of Darryl Eaton, Rick Roskin and Emma Banks,  co-heads of global touring.  Rob Light serves as Managing Director.

Dickins says of the new role, “I’m really excited to be joining CAA. I’ve long admired the vision and leadership of the company and the incredible team behind it. What matters most to me is the opportunity to continue building deep creative partnerships with artists and helping them realize their ambitions on a global stage.”

Dickins was based in Los Angeles during her tenure at WME, which named her Global Head of Contemporary Music and Touring in 2022, working alongside Kirk Sommer (who remains Global Head of Contemporary Music and Touring in Dickins’ absence).

“We wanted to share with everyone that our friend and colleague Lucy Dickins will be leaving WME,” a memo from WME co-chariman Christian Muirhead shared with Pollstar read. “Over the past seven years, Lucy helped us navigate one of the most disruptive periods in the live music business. As the head of our UK office, s he re-energized our presence in London, built a strong team, and solidified WME’s leadership in the region. Then COVID hit and she dove right in, taking on her expanded role, relocating to Los Angeles, and providing critical support to our team during an unprecedented crisis.”

The memo continued, “On the other side of the pandemic, she led major signings, constructed innovative tour models, and brought exceptional heart and enthusiasm to our business. Kirk Sommer will continue to lead the Contemporary Music division moving forward, and we will keep you posted with further updates.”

Dickins joined WME in 2019, leaving International Talent Booking, the longstanding agency started by her father, Barry. She began her WME stint running the agency’s London office. During the pandemic, she spearheaded WME’s Virtual Appearances Group, creating ticketed virtual events at a time when in-person shows were put on hold.

In addition to Dickins’ departure, Tony Goldring and David Bradley also recently joined CAA from WME.
