Oak View Group Appoints Shazmah Hakim As Chief Legal Officer

Oak View Group (OVG), a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services including venue development, venue management, hospitality and sponsorship sales, today announced Shazmah Hakim as the new Chief Legal Officer.  Hakim joins OVG after serving as CLO of Remington Lodging and Hospitality in Dallas, Texas. Hakim will be based in Denver and will report to Chris Granger, Chief Executive Officer at Oak View Group.

As Chief Legal Officer, Hakim will act as general counsel for Oak View Group, which is parent company to Pollstar, and oversee the company’s corporate legal team. She will operate as a strategic legal advisor to Granger and the OVG corporate leadership team, providing guidance on Corporate Governance & Compliance, Litigation & Risk Management, Global Regulatory Support and more. She will oversee all OVG legal teams managing mergers & acquisitions, commercial and revenue agreement execution, IP and brand protection, labor and employment law oversight as well as ethics, ESG and corporate social responsibility.

With over 25 years of experience as General Counsel of domestic and international transactional, commercial, real estate, operational, governance, compliance and data privacy matters, Hakim has held leadership positions at Remington Lodging and Hospitality, More Development, Inc., Marriott International, Inc., Kingdom Hotel Investments and more. She has provided strategic guidance to the CEO and executive leadership teams while owning global oversight for all legal matters at the organizations. Hakim’s experience spans domestic and international territories, including the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, UK, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.
