The Bad Plus Adds International Shows To 2026 Farewell Tour

Jazz band The Bad Plus announced additional international dates to its ongoing 2026 Farewell Tour, including shows in Japan, Australia and New York.

The band added a three-night stand at Blue Note Tokyo (Oct. 17-19) and a series of shows in Australia, marking The Bad Plus’s debut in the country. The quartet also has a special final Big Apple performance at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge on Nov. 12 before calling it a career in late December with 10 shows across five nights in their hometown of Minneapolis at Dakota.

The Bad Plus comprises founding bassist Reid Anderson and drummer Dave King, along with guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed.

“The Bad Plus has been a band for 26 years,” Anderson and King said in a statement. “That’s quite a long time! As we enter into year 27 – after a great deal of soul searching and consideration – we have decided to bring this chapter to a close. 2026 will be the final year of The Bad Plus. We share this news with heavy hearts, but also with great pride in what we have accomplished. It has been a privilege to share our music with the world and we leave behind a body of work that we could not be more proud of.

The band is booked in all territories excluding Europe by Big Fish Booking’s Chris Weller and Ryan Anderson.
