All-Star Lineup Announced For ‘NYC Still Rising After 25 Years: A 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit’

Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are once again bringing together comedians for a night of laughs to benefit 9/11 charities, with the event marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. 

“NYC Still Rising After 25 Years: A 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit” is set for Sept. 10 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. 

The lineup features Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Ronny Chieng, Pete Davidson, Nikki Glaser, Josh Johnson and Jon Stewart, with the promise of more special guests. 

 “We look forward to once again celebrating this great city’s tenacity, resilience, and championship heart – and we don’t only mean our NY Knicks,” Stewart and Davidson said in a joint statement.

The duo first teamed up five years ago to put on an event marking the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, “NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration.” 

Variety points out that “Davidson’s father was a firefighter who died in the Sept. 11 attacks. Stewart has been active in recent years in pushing for support of Sept. 11 first responders, many of whom were exposed to toxic dust after the collapse of the World Trade Center and got sick. Stewart has been a key advocate for U.S. veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Live Nation, will be available on Wednesday, July 29 via a variety of presales: an artist presale, Live Nation presale, venue presale and a presale for Chase cardholders all begin at 10 a.m. EDT. The general sale starts on Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m. EDT.
