Rich Robinson Chases The Crooked Sun

Through A Crooked Sun is set for release Oct. 11 on Rich’s label Circle Sounds Records, in conjunction with Thirty Tigers. The album includes guest appearances from Warren Haynes and Larry Campbell. The release is the follow-up to his 2004 debut solo album, Paper.

The U.S. fall tour, which marks Rich’s first solo dates since 2007, kicks off Oct. 6 in Philadelphia at North Star Bar. Shows are booked through a Nov. 19 gig in Phoenix at The Crescent Ballroom.

Stops along the way include Cambridge, Mass., at T.T. The Bear’s Oct. 10; Chicago’s Double Door Oct. 19; Minneapolis at Cedar Cultural Center Oct. 20; Houston at Fitzgerald’s Nov. 1; Denver’s Soiled Dove Underground Nov. 4; Seattle’s The Triple Door Nov. 9; San Francisco at Café Du Nord Nov. 12; and San Diego at The Casbah Nov. 18.

The trek will also head up north for an Oct. 15 show at Toronto’s El Mocambo, followed by a Nov. 8 performance in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Media Club.

Rich’s band features Joe Magistro on drums, Jack Daley on bass, and Steve Molitz on keyboards.

The Black Crowes announced in spring 2010 that the band planned to go on hiatus following the “San Goodnight to the Bad Guys” tour. The group’s last shows (for now) took place July 17-18 in Amsterdam. The Black Crowes previously took a break between 2002-2005.

Meanwhile, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood has tour dates scheduled through mid-December.
