Jani Lane’s Mystery Note
“I am Jani Lane” was reportedly printed on the note along with a phone number to call, according to TMZ. The gossip site also said authorities confirmed no I.D. was found on Lane’s body and that it wasn’t the first time someone had pinned such a message on the former Warrant frontman.
Apparently authorities are talking to the friend of Lane’s believed to be responsible for the note. Meanwhile, the note has reportedly enraged Lane’s parents who told TMZ that the person was aware of their son’s substance abuse problems but did nothing to help him.
There is still no word as to what caused Lane’s death. An autopsy conducted within 48 hours of his body’s discovery did not determine what killed the performer. Toxicology results are expected soon.
A free tribute concert honoring Lane is planned for West Hollywood’s Key Club Aug. 29 featuring performances by Great White, Quiet Riot, L.A. Guns, Enuff Z’Nuff, and Slammin’ Gladys. Click here for more information.
