Dylan And Knopfler Plot Europe Trek
Touring with their respective bands, Dylan and Knopfler begin the trek in Ireland at The O2 Dublin Oct. 6 then head to Scotland for two nights at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena Oct. 8-9. Continuing in the U.K., look for the tour to play Manchester Evening News Arena Oct. 10; Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena Oct. 11; Cardiff at Motorpoint Arena Oct. 13 and Bournmouth’s International Center Oct. 14.
Crossing the channel, the tour lands in Lille, France, for a gig at the Zenith Arena Oct. 16. Other destinations include Paris (Oct. 17); Merksem, Belgium (Oct. 19); Rotterdam (Oct. 20); Munich (Oct. 26); Stockholm (Nov. 4); Rome (Nov. 12); and Geneva Nov. (15). Last stop on the current schedule is Zurich, Switzerland, at the Hallenstadion Nov. 16.
Knopfler’s association with Dylan goes back to the late 1970s when Dylan invited him to play on his Slow Train Coming album after seeing Dire Straits perform at West Hollywood’s Roxy. Knopfler later produced Dylan’s Infidels album.
