‘Saving The Rock’ In Portland
KUFO rocked Portland, Ore., for more than 20 years as it shook up the Pacific Northwest airwaves with Slipknot, Godsmack, Disturbed and others considered to be integral sounds of the radio industry’s “active rock” format. But the good times changed in March when the station flipped to a news/talk format under the call letters KXL.

“We’ve always loved playing in Portland,” Korn’s Jonathan Davis said in a statement. “We heard about the radio station going away and we wanted to help. We know there are some die-hard Korn fans there and we are coming to support them and stand up for rock music.”
