Make Room For Elbow This Fall

U.S. fans hoping to see Elbow outside of a festival setting will be happy to hear that the British alternative rock band has just announced a round of new fall shows.

Elbow is touring in support of the group’s fifth studio album, Build a Rocket Boys! The album was released in March as the follow-up to 2008’s Mercury Prize-winning The Seldom Seen Kid.

In April Elbow earned kudos for its set at Coachella in Indio, Calif. The Wall Street Journal praised the band for continuing “its tradition of anthemic yet intimate rock … Elbow’s seven-song, 50-minute set went by in a satisfying flash.”

Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, Raleigh, N.C.

After playing Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas Sept. 18, the fall U.S. trek continues with a Sept. 20 gig at Atlanta’s Center Stage. Dates are booked through an Oct. 1 performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

The new U.S. shows also include stops at 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (Sept. 22); Philadephia’s FDR Skatepark (Sept. 23); New York’s Terminal 5 (Sept. 25) and Boston’s Paradise Rock Club (Sept. 26). Elbow will also hit up Canada for a Sept. 28 gig at Toronto’s Sound Academy.

Look out for the band’s performance on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” Sept. 21.

European dates are booked June 17 through July 16, followed by Australian shows July 25-29 and United Kingdom gigs Aug. 24-28.

Tickets for the new North American dates go on sale beginning June 16.
