Gillian Welch’s Summer Of ‘Harrow & Harvest’
Welch is touring in support of her new album, The Harrow & The Harvest, scheduled to drop June 28 on Acony Records. Called “a new Southern Sound” by Colin Meloy, the Decemberists leader described the effort as “songs you’d expect to hear hollered from an Asheville grange hall, all too late in the evening” while advising folks to “Listen to it on an old radio, cradled next to your ear.”

Heading inland, look for Welch and Rawlings to appear in Missoula, Mont., at the Wilma Theatre July 17. Other cross-country stops include Madison, Wis., at Capitol Theatre July 21; Toronto at Phoenix Concert Hall July 25; Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse Aug. 6; Knoxville at Tennessee Theatre Aug. 24 and Charleston, S.C., at the Charleston Music Hall Aug. 28.
