Enrique Iglesias Announces U.S. Tour
The new tour dates should more than make up for any disappointment fans might have felt when Iglesias backed out of Britney Spears’ summer tour.
In late March Spears announced on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that she was embarking on a tour with Iglesias. Later that day a representative for Iglesias explained that despite earlier reports, the bilingual singer would not be hitting the road with Britney. Nicki Minaj was brought in to fill his spot on the trek.
Iglesias’ fall U.S. tour kicks off Sept. 22 in Boston at TD Garden. The run closes out Oct. 22 with a hometown concert in Miami at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Shows along the way include gigs in Philadelphia (Sept. 23); Newark, N.J. (Sept. 24); Toronto (Sept. 29); Auburn Hills, Mich. (Sept. 30); Rosemont, Ill. (Oct. 1); Los Angeles (Oct. 6) and San Jose, Calif. (Oct. 7).
Additional dates are also planned for Houston (Oct. 12); San Antonio, Texas (Oct. 13); El Paso, Texas (Oct. 15); Laredo, Texas (Oct. 16); Grand Prairie, Texas (Oct. 18); Duluth, Ga. (Oct. 20); and Orlando, Fla. (Oct. 21).
Pitbull and Prince Royce are hitting the road with Iglesias as his special guests. Both acts will open all of the shows with the exception of Sept. 22, which only features Pitbull.
“I’m so excited to go out in the states, and this time with my good friends Pitbull and Prince Royce,” Iglesias said. “It’s going to be a great show and we hope to see all of you out there. This tour will be unforgettable!”
After performing on “American Idol” tonight Iglesias will make an appearance on “Lopez Tonight.”
Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, May 20.
