Splendour In The Grass’ Splendorous Lineup
The 11th annual Australian festival is set for July 29-31 at Woodfordia in Woodford, Queensland.
This year’s event will feature a total of 81 acts including Modest Mouse, The Hives, Pulp, The Living End, The Mars Volta, Regina Spektor, Mogwai, DJ Shadow, Friendly Fires, Glasvegas, Devendra Banhart and the Grogs, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vines and Elbow.
The lineup also includes Kele, The Kills, Gomez, Fitz & The Tantrums, Thievery Corporation, Cut Copy, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Noah And The Whale, The Vaccines, James Blake, The Middle East, and Eskimo Joe.
A statement on the festival’s website assures fans that event organizers have a few surprises up their sleeves.
“With one year at Woodfordia under our collective belts, regular Splendour punters might feel that they’ll be familiar with the site – but don’t think it’s going to be a repeat of 2010. We like to mix things up a bit and keep you on your toes! There will be a number of new bars, some new spaces to explore and changes here and there around the site.”
The festival’s “Global Village” will once again feature performances, workshops, lifestyle outlets, market stalls and global food fair. Attractions include the Tipi Forest, the Very Small Mall (featuring the Splendour Day Spa), the Smirnoff Cocktail Bar, Mo’Rockin’ Wine Bar and the new Bar New Orleans.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 5 through Moxhtix.com.au or by calling 1-300-GET TIX.
Three-day passes are $390 (approx. U.S. $411). Three-day passes that include camping will be priced at $510 (approx. U.S. $538). Booking fees are not included in the quoted prices.
