Katy Perry Looks To Janelle Monáe For Support

Janelle Monáe is teaming up with Katy Perry this summer for several stops on the North American leg of her “California Dreams” world tour.

Before touring with Perry, Monáe is hitting the road for a co-headline trek with Bruno Mars. The “Hooligans In Wondaland” tour kicks off May 4 in New York City and wraps June 15 in Phoenix.

The R&B singer is also jetting over to Europe for a few festival dates including a July 1 performance at Open Air St. Gallen in Switzerland and a July 2 set at Wireless Festival in London.

Monáe joins Perry for six dates beginning with a July 13 show at Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Additional Canadian shows include MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba (July 14); Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta (July 16) and Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta (July 17).

U.S. support dates include shows at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. (Aug. 19) and Scottrade Center in St. Louis (Aug. 20).

Tonight Perry performs at HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London as part of a string of U.K. dates. In April and May she has gigs scheduled in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Her North American tour begins June 7 in Duluth, Ga., with dates scheduled through the Aug. 20 St. Louis show. The rest of Perry’s year is filled with more U.K. and Ireland dates, in addition to a spot at Rock In Rio – Rio De Janeiro.

Perry is touring in support of her sophomore album, 2010’s Teenage Dream. Last year Monáe released The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III).
