Foo Fighters Live – In Your Local Movie Theater
After making its debut at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, “Foo Fighters: Back and Forth” will be screened at select U.S. theatres April 5, according to the Los Angeles Times. The 2011 SXSW festival takes place March 11-20.
“Foo Fighters: Back and Forth” was directed by Oscar/Emmy winner James Moll and produced by Spitfire Pictures in association with Allentown Productions. The documentary takes viewers through the band’s 16-year-history including an in-depth, behind the scenes look at the recording process for the group’s seventh album, Wasting Light.
The album is set for release April 12 as the follow-up to 2007’s Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Wasting Light was produced by Butch Vig, who is best known as the drummer for Garbage and as the producer behind Nirvana’s 1991 album Nevermind. The new Foo album includes guest appearances from artists including former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.
Before Wasting Light hits stores Foo Fighters will perform the album from start-to-finish during the documentary tie-in performance. The performance will be shown via live feed following the documentary.
