Only Men Aloud’s U.S. Tour Silenced
The all-male choir known as Only Men Aloud was supposed to begin its first major tour of the U.S. in March. But that was before European television appearances conflicted with travel plans.
You might have caught Only Men Aloud on PBS over the holidays. Known as Men Aloud in the U.K., the group’s TV special – “Men Aloud: Live In Wales” was all over the Public Broadcasting Service. Filmed at the Wales Millennium Center, the men’s choir was joined by special guests Bonnie Tyler, opera star Bryn Terfel and London’s John Owen Jones.
Although Only Men Aloud previously performed in the U.S., the upcoming tour, scheduled to begin March 4 in Somerville, Mass., was hailed by the group as its first major tour of America. However, according to at least one venue on the routing, the tour was canceled due to “television appearance commitments in Europe.” Of course, refunds are available at points of purchase.
