Kennemore and guitarist Dave Meniketti have been the only consistent members of Y&T since 1974, and re-formed the band in 1995, playing sporadically, before an official reunion in 2001.

The band released its 12th studio album, Facemelter, in 2010, marking their first studio effort in 13 years.

Meniketti said Kennemore was “surrounded by his family members and the Y&T family up until his final breath.”
