Glenn Hughes Can’t Slow Down
Eyeballing a list of all the bands associated with Hughes is like a walk through the British rock history book, what with Hughes having worked in Deep Purple and Trapeze as well as with Black Sabbath / Heaven And Hell legend Tony Iommi. Hughes also paid tribute the late great Ronnie James Dio when he sang with Heaven And Hell at London’s
Hughes wrapped up 2010 with a U.K. tour by Black Country Communion, the Brit / U.S. supergroup that also includes Jason Bonham, Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian.
Who’s playing in Hughes’ band on the upcoming U.K. run? That would be Pontus Engborg on drums, guitarist Soren Andersen and Anders Olinder on keyboards.
The tour begins May 14 in Northampton at The Roadmender. Other stops include Cambridge at the Junction May 15; Edinburgh at HMV Picture House May 20; Aberdeen at Lemon Tree May 21; Brighton at Komedia Ltd. May 26 and Poole at Mr. Kyps May 27 before hitting the end of the road in Birmingham at Town Hall May 29.
