Justin Bieber Avoids Assault Charges
“The file in regard to the alleged assault at the entertainment center has been concluded, and no charges will be forwarded,” Corporal Turley of the Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police told MTV News Tuesday. “The investigation is complete.”
Turley said there wasn’t enough evidence to support the investigation.
Because Bieber is only 16 years old, Turley could not confirm that the singer was one of the persons involved in the alleged incident. MTV notes this would violate a law that prohibits “the dissemination of information into criminal cases involving youths.”
The incident reportedly took place Oct. 15 at the Planet Lazer Entertainment Center in Richmond, British Columbia. A representative for Planet Lazer previously told Rolling Stone that Bieber was at the facility that night.
TMZ.com previously reported that the 12-year-old player was actually the one that started the alleged fight by repeatedly shooting Bieber. The gossip site pointed out this is “a violation of the code of honor of laser tag.”
When Bieber asked him to cut it out, the kid reportedly used a homophobic slur, repeatedly calling him a “faggot.” The 12-year-old put his hand out toward Bieber and the singer then “pushed it away as he left.”
